DUBAI – His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, met nearly 300 senior leaders from across the emirate’s business community during a specially convened Dubai Majlis focused on strengthening economic resilience.

The gathering brought together key government officials and business leaders to review strategies aimed at safeguarding Dubai’s economic momentum while reinforcing its position as a global hub for trade, tourism and investment.

The meeting reflected ongoing efforts by the Government of Dubai to strengthen coordination with the private sector and align economic priorities.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan highlighted that Dubai continues to move forward with confidence, supported by strong collaboration between the government and the business community.

Strategic dialogue

The Majlis was organised by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism as part of wider efforts to deepen engagement with the private sector and strengthen collaboration across economic sectors.

Senior officials attending the meeting included Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications.

The session provided business leaders with detailed briefings on current economic developments and strategic initiatives designed to maintain stability while supporting long-term growth.

Discussions focused on reinforcing national economic resilience and ensuring the continued strength of Dubai’s key sectors.

Key briefings

The private briefing featured updates from Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Major General Abdul Nasser Al Humaidi, Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of Defence; and Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline.

Reem Al Hashimy underlined the importance of unity and cohesion during times of global uncertainty. She praised the stability and confidence demonstrated by the business community and wider society, emphasising the need for continued collective efforts to advance Dubai’s development and prosperity.

Officials also shared insights into national coordination efforts and measures aimed at ensuring the resilience of key sectors that support the emirate’s economic activity.

Aviation outlook

Sir Tim Clark highlighted the strength and adaptability of Dubai’s aviation sector, noting that operations are steadily ramping up while maintaining the highest safety standards.

He emphasised that global demand for travel through Dubai remains strong, reinforcing the city’s role as one of the world’s most significant international aviation hubs and a critical gateway connecting global markets.

Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, said that under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the emirate has built one of the world’s most resilient and future-ready economic ecosystems.

Almarri said the meeting reflected a shared commitment between government and business leaders to align on the next phase of growth. He highlighted the role of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 in shaping future development, supporting the emirate’s ambition to strengthen its global standing as a centre for trade, investment, tourism and innovation.

The Dubai Majlis also underscored the strong partnership between the government and the private sector, with participants reaffirming their commitment to supporting sustainable growth and maintaining Dubai’s position among the world’s leading cities for business and investment.
